Founders is back in South Carolina! And has been going strong since the Michigan brewery began distributing in the state again in mid-2012 after a noticeable absence. Today, most craft bars here serve anything from the Red’s Rye to Breakfast Stout. Barley’s in Greenville even offers 2009 KBS on their reserve list.
And once again, Barley’s is upping the ante. On Friday, January 25th, the Upstate’s great craft beer bar will have a Founders private tasting with the brewery’s co-founder, Dave Engbers. If you’re interested in the history of the brewery, then you can read about it here: http://foundersbrewing.com/history/. Or you can come to the tasting and ask Dave yourself.
Tickets will be $30 a person and will go on sale Sunday, January 13th at the taproom at noon. Seating will be very limited as it is expected to be in the brand new private tasting room that Barley’s just recently opened during their Vertical Epic tastings for Stone Brewing. And that means that there are probably only about 20 spots, so don’t waste any time if you’re thinking of going.
The beer lineup for the event is currently slated as follows:
- Founders Backwoods Bastard
- Founders Breakfast Stout
- Founders Centennial IPA
- Founders Curmudgeon Old Ale
- Founders Pale Ale
- Founders Red’s Rye
