A brewery in Lancaster? Could it be? Believe it or not, yes. Boxcar Brewery is opening soon. How soon? Hard to say. The brewery just announced several weeks ago that it had received federal approval and was submitting its application to the state. The brewery is probably looking at between a 6-8 week wait on the state application. It is also close to a contract with a local beer distributor. After that, we’ll see. But the brewery is hoping to start serving by late March.
The brewery is being started by Bryan O’Neal, who is coming from twenty years in the swimming pool business. He now jumps head first into the waters of craft beer. A former homebrewer, O’Neal seems determined and ready to tackle the challenge. On brew days, the brewery offers free samples of its beer and a chance to see the brewing process. The best way to get updates on what is happening is to follow the brewery’s facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/BoxcarBrewery
