Greenville is growing. Nowhere is that more true than in the craft beer community. While it isn’t yet on the same level as Charleston, it isn’t too far behind. Whether it’s the accolades that Barley’s continues to win (Exhibit 1 & Exhibit 2), the success of the Greenville Beer Exchange and Community Tap, the continued success of Thomas Creek, or the upcoming openings of Quest Brewing and Brewery 85, there’s a lot for beer geeks to be excited about right now in Greenville.
The Greenville News has taken notice of this excitement and has launched a weekly column dedicated to craft beer. The column will run run every Friday and will be written by staff writer Eric Connor. Connor has been with the Greenville News since 1999 and writes environmental features. He’s also a lover of craft beer.
I’m looking forward to seeing this column take shape and hope that other daily newspapers in South Carolina will take notice and follow suit. South Carolina is an exciting place to be right now for craft beer. Good for the Greenville News in recognizing that.
