If you’re looking for something to do tonight that involves good craft beer, Barley’s in Greenville has got you covered. Barley’s hosts Allagash Gush! It is described this way:
Join us along with “Allagash Les Addis” as the Allagash beers will literally be gushing! Embarrassingly, this is our first Allagash exclusive event since…possibly ever. So we’re making up for lost time with a lineup worthy of any beer festival out there…& possibly some giveaways while supplies last. Here’s a partial beer lineup (subject to change of course)…
- Allagash Bourbon Barrel Black
- Allagash Confluence Ale
- Allagash Curieux // 2010
- Allagash Fluxus
- Allagash FV-13
- Allagash Grand Cru
- Allagash Hugh Malone
- Allagash Interlude
- Allagash Yakuza Ale
Barley’s taps the kegs at 7pm and the event runs all night. If you’ve never been to one of Barley’s tapping events, they are quite a treat. There is always swag to give away, and once in awhile, something really special sneaks its way into the lineup. Although, if you’re looking for rare, it doesn’t get much more so than the FV-13. The brewery describes it this way:
FV 13 marks our first venture into the world of foudre beers. Foudres are giant oak tanks used for aging (this one holds 2700 gallons.) FV 13 is a blend of wild yeast and bacteria, a base beer with lots of malt character, and about four years of patience. The finished beer is copper in color, with an aroma of cherries and caramel. The flavor is a blend of sweet and tart, with notes of fruit and caramelized sugar. The full mouthfeel gives way to a tart, mouth drying finish. 8.9% ABV. Released February 2013.
Both the FV 13 and the Bourbon Barrel Black will be featured by Allagash at Brewvival. If you can’t wait until then, you should be at this event.
