The Pint Bill was introduced in the Senate yesterday, where it will be known as S. 423. It possesses the same initial language as the House version. You can view the Senate bill here: http://www.scstatehouse.gov/sess120_2013-2014/bills/423.htm The bill currently has 3 sponsors: Senators Campbell, Bennett, and Hembree. Here’s a little bit more information about each:

The bill was introduced and read for the first time. Like in the House, it was then referred to the Judiciary Committee. Please refer back to the how-to guide on who to contact there: https://beerofsc.com/2013/02/20/passing-the-pint-bill-a-how-to-guide/

Meanwhile, the House version of the bill breezed through a subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee, passing unanimously. The bill now goes to the entire House Judiciary Committee, where it faces little opposition. Only one small linguistic change was made, which in no way impacts the bill. The bill is expected to get its second reading this week. The House bill has also added a new sponsor – G. Murrell Smith, Jr. from Sumter.
