Benford Brewing in Lancaster announced via Facebook this morning that its first keg had been sold and already kicked at a local establishment. The beer was Old Hickory Brown Ale, which the brewery sees as a potential flagship. Here’s the post:

Our first keg of Old Hickory Brown Ale was finished off within 3 business days at Grinders. More beer was picked up by the distributor yesterday to keep this going. I have a batch ready to transfer and will be concentrating on brewing new batches of Old Hickory to keep this going. I believe this will be out flagship beer. Thanks for everyone’s support and let’s keep draining these kegs!

If you’re looking to try some Benford beer, then you can head to Lancaster and go to Grinder’s restaurant. The brewery expects that the next available keg will be O’Neal’s Special Oatmeal Oyster Stout and then Riverside Red Ale (Irish Red) by St. Patrick’s Day.
