Upstate, South Carolina boasts many great places to grab a quality brew. Most people just think Greenville or maybe Spartanburg. But, one place in Anderson is changing all of that. Growler Haus combines elements of a bar, beer garden, and a 12 tap growler station to the delight of the local population. It also supports the local homebrewers and offers beer dinners on a regular basis.

And business is booming. So much so that owner Craig Kinley is looking to open a location in Spartanburg. In fact, he is looking for your support to do it. He’s put together a Spartanburg Crowd Funding campaign for the location. This is similar to how the Anderson location came about. Kinley doesn’t see it as raising money, but building a loyal community that will support the business once it is open.

Here’s how the fundraising page describes Growler Haus:

Create a unique craft beer buying experience in Spartanburg, SC that will offer multiple seasonal and tasteful craft/micro beers and other libations. Buying beer or other libations from a grocery store or big box retailer does not offer the unique experience to discuss the sophisticated palate for the persnickety craft beer or micro brewery lover.  Purchasing craft and micro beer in draft form in a growler makes for the freshest way to consume your favorite beer for those that have an affinity for the beer tasting experience. The environment we will create will be a rustic, non-pretentious club style atmosphere.  The moment you enter the facility, you will be greeted with a smile and welcomed personally by the high trained staff that not only will treat you personally but will also carry the same affinity as you do for the beer buying and tasting experience.

The project seeks to raise $12,000 by the end of May. And there are plenty of goodies for those that donate.
