Last week, the National Beer Wholesalers Association released a report highlighting its impact across the country, including South Carolina. The report indicates that South Carolina beer distributors directly employ 1,908 people. This is based on 48 beer distributors in the state. The report also says that the total impact of beer distributors in the state brings in over $123 million in state, local, and federal taxes.
As the state’s breweries continue to expand and multiply, you can expect a similar study like this from them down the road. But for now, it’s safe to conclude that the beer industry is doing pretty well in South Carolina.
