Early last month, word got out that RJ Rockers and Holy City were doing the first ever collaboration between South Carolina breweries, which was highlighted here: https://beerofsc.com/2013/03/04/the-lowdown-on-the-holy-city-rj-rockers-collaboration/
Since that time, excitement has been building for the release of Stuck on Rye 26 and the wait is just about over. As a part of Charleston Beer Week, the breweries will unveil their creation on Wednesday, April 24th at 7pm at the Oak Barrel Tavern located in the West Ashley neighborhood of Charleston. If you’ve never been, it’s a fairly intimate bar in the Avondale area that features 6 taps. Our friends at CHS Beer have written about it if you’re unfamiliar: http://chsbeer.org/place/oak-barrel-tavern
Now, the beer. It’s an imperial red rye ale that clocks in at 8.5% ABV. Made with 20% rye and hopped with Warrior and Cascade, it’s sure to be a hit. The breweries only made about 15 bbls of it, so get it while you can. If you won’t be in Charleston, you might find it at your favorite retail shop soon or at the Community Tap Craft Beer Festival in less than two weeks up in Greenville.
