Tonight is the long anticipated Most Arrogant Bar Bash at Barley’s in Greenville. First, a little background on the event. Each year, Stone Brewing Company holds a weeklong nationwide competition to find a beer bar that sells the most pints of its Bastard beers. In the past, this meant Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, and Double Bastard. This year, that also included a Double Dry Hopped Bastard and Lucky Bastard. Barley’s was the big winner this time around, selling more than any other of the 360+ participating bars in America.

This evening marks the celebration of this honor. Last year’s winner was the Raleigh Times Bar in Raleigh, North Carolina. Previously, two bars in Charlotte, North Carolina had won the title. The win by Barley’s snaps the North Carolina streak at 3 and helps to continue to put Greenville on the map in terms of beer destinations.

Greg Koch, CEO and co-founder of Stone will be coming to Greenville tonight to celebrate. Due to his hectic schedule, Koch won’t be arriving until about 7:30. However, Barley’s will start pouring beers at 4:00. Koch won’t be staying in Greenville long, as he departs for New York City early the next morning.
