Brewery 85 in Greenville had big news yesterday after its ran its weekly contest which allows fans and followers to learn more information about the brewery’s location. After the contest ended, Will McCameron, co-owner/brewmaster of Brewery 85, wrote the following:

We are so appreciative of the love you guys have shown us and opening this brewery has truly been a dream come true for Meredith, Jeremy, & I (Will). We work our butts off and try to treat folks nicely and do right by everyone. We’ve been met with nothing but awesome love from all of you.

So, here’s our big news:

WE RECEIVED OUR FEDERAL BREWERS NOTICE FROM THE TTB!

Woo Hoo! We are now licensed by the feds to brew some suds. What does this mean?? Well now, we have to wait on the building to get done, get our equipment hooked up, get approved by the state for the same licensing, get our occupancy, and (finally) have you by our place for a beer or two!

We are so lucky to have our brewery in such a great community/region/state. You guys rock and we appreciate everything. The response and participation has been overwhelming (in a good way!)

Again: THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

The brewery seems to be on track for an opening in late fall. Construction has been coming along on schedule with the foundation laid and the framing up.

The Brewery also recently announced a new beer to its core lineup. That will be an imperial pilsner that clocks in at 7.5%. It’s very easy drinking for an imperial and is a little different from the style. A very refreshing beer, it will really hit the spot during the warm spring and summer months. The beer is calling Quittin’ Time and it’s perfect after a long day of work.

Brewery 85 also announced recently that it was working on a winter seasonal IPA. It was just brewed on the pilot system, so word yet on if it will be used.

Next up for the brewery is to finish construction and receive its state license, in addition to all the little things that must be done in order to open a brewery.
